At Vernal Chiropractic we take a unique approach for treatment because each patient is unique. Your treatments should be individualized for you because no one has had the same experiences or history as you. Our practitioners will do a full health history and a functional exam. If necessary they may do X-rays or necessary imaging. Our practitioners will also review any images you may have previously had. They will take the time to talk with you and go over any questions or concerns you may have. We use several different researched based Chiropractic techniques and modalities to cater to your individual needs to help you and your body recover and heal. We will approach your care with integrity and always in your best interest.
What techniques are used at Vernal Chiropractic?
Patients are scheduled to have an initial evaluation which will include a health history and functional exam, this will help your Chiropractor determine what type of treatment and therapies will be recommended for you to give you optimal results in healing and getting back to function.
Cox Technic is a non-surgical, gentle, well-researched, hands-on Chiropractic spinal adjusting manipulation for decompressing spinal nerves and treating spine pain. This Flexion-Distraction technic creates a "push, pull, pumping" effect on the intervertebral disc space. Flexion-Distraction is rated as an "Established" technique, one of only two techniques in chiropractic with this rating.
It is an evidence-based form of physical therapy designed to help reduce spinal pain and restore patient mobility. Developed by James M. Cox, DC, DACBR, the technique has been well-researched and documented since its inception in 1984 and has become a popular choice for many patients suffering from back pain or other musculoskeletal issues.
Cox Technic focuses on the manipulation of spinal joints using a combination of manual and instrument-assisted techniques to reduce pain and restore movement. It can be used to treat low back pain, neck pain, arm pain, sciatica, herniated discs, spondylolisthesis, mild scoliosis, and many other conditions. Cox Technic has been found to be effective in relieving pain and improving range of motion, as well as providing patients with a greater quality of life.
The benefits of Cox Technic include improved flexibility, reduced muscle tension, increased strength and stability in the spine, increased mobility, reduced inflammation, fewer nerve compression issues, improved posture and balance, better movement mechanics, and quicker return to normal activities. Cox Technic has also been found to reduce the need for medications, injections, and other treatments that can have unpleasant side effects.
An Activator is small handheld instrument that was scientifically designed to give you a low-force gentle adjustment. It has been safely used for over 35 years. This Technic incorporates the latest advances in orthopedic, neurological and Chiropractic examinations as well as a unique system of administering spinal adjustments. By using the Activator instruments your Chiropractor can help restore spinal balance safely and comfortably. Activator is widely used on infants, children and elderly because it is so effective and gentle. Since the adjustments from the activator are so quick and controlled your body's muscles are less likely to resist which allows for a precise adjustment. It is unique because it allows for your Chiropractor to zero in on the exact area of the body that is causing your pain.
Along with these techniques we may also use additional small instruments such as a percussor or adjusting board that can also aid in the healing our patients. Depending on what the patient is experiencing or needed for that visit. After your treatment with your Chiropractor you will also receive electrical therapy (E-Stim). This is a therapy that helps with inflammation and increases
circulation. We understand that you are unique, and each patient should be cared for individually. To best address your needs and help you heal in the most efficient way possible.
